Balsamic-Glazed Mushrooms

It is perfect with steak…or chicken…or anything!  It’s like candy … only better!  When done making it – HIDE IT! (if not serving immediately)


  • 3 tbsp (45ml) butter
  • 1 packet (300g) button mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) balsamic vinegar


  • Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • Add mushrooms and onion.
  • Add brown sugar and balsamic vinegar.
  • Increase the heat and simmer until liquid has reduced to a glaze.

Serve either warm or cold.
